What is a good Red Lobster-comparable recipe for lobster bisque?
I’m wanting to do a nice dinner for my gf and I would like to prepare a lobster bisque similar to the one at Red Lobster. Does anyone have a simple, straightforward recipe that an average joe who is only mildly decent in the kitchen can work with?
Yummy Lobster Bisque
Ingredients
1 cup chicken broth
2 medium slices onion
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 pound cooked and cubed Lobster Meat
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 pinch ground cayenne pepper
Directions
In a small frying pan place 1/4 cup chicken stock and the onion. Cook over a low heat for 5 to 7 minutes.
In a medium size pot over medium heat melt the butter. Slowly whisk in flour. Whisk until a creamy mixture is created.
Gradually pour in stock, whisking constantly. Whisk in milk, salt, onion, lobster meat, Worcestershire sauce and cayenne pepper. Heat until soup is almost boiling. Do not boil the soup as the milk will curdle when boiled.
Yield: 4 servings

The best Lobster Bisque recipe I’ve ever eaten was from Scott’s Seafood here in Sacto. It’s fairly time consuming, but the outcome is absolutely delicious! Another idea would be to take:
1 can Campbells tomato bisque
1 can Campbells Potato Soup
1/2 cup clam juice
1/2 cup sour cream
1 cup lobster or crab meat, picked over and cut into bite sized pieces.
1/2 cup white wine
1 cup shredded cheese
1 tsp white pepper
Salt to taste
